Abstract

In the clinic, the most challenging and difficulttreatment decisions surround the management ofantiretroviral-experienced patients. Individualizedtreatment regimens are designed based onprior treatment, drug resistance and toxicity.Great uncertainty exists regarding the expectedefficacy of salvage regimens in any individualpatient due to our limitations in understanding ofdrug resistance and pharmacokinetics.
