Revision of the DHHS Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents

Three major sections of the guidelines (http://www.aidsinfo.nih.gov/guidelines/) were revisedon July 14th 2003 – (1) recommendations for theselection of antiretroviral drug combinations asinitial regimen for treatment-naive HIV-infectedpatients; (2) recommendations for the use ofresistance testing to guide therapy, and (3)recommendations on the management of patientswho have experienced treatment failure.
