Abstract

At the beginning of the HIV pandemic, most complicationsin AIDS patients were due to infectiousagents. Following the introduction of highly activeantiretroviral therapy (HAART) in 1996, survival dramaticallyimproved and neoplastic diseases becomea more frequent diagnose in HIV-positive individuals,being currently recognized in more than 40% of patientsat some point of their life.
