The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services(DHHS) released on March 27, 2012 an updatedversion of its guidelines on the use of antiretroviralagents. The DHHS panel now recommends thatantiretroviral therapy should be offered to everyonediagnosed with HIV. Other highlights include newsections on aging with HIV and drug costs, as wellas updates on treatment as prevention, and recommendationsfor using new antivirals against hepatitisC in HIV/HCV-coinfected individuals.
