A set of six mutations in the reverse transcriptaseof HIV-1 including M41L, D67N, K70R,L210W, T215Y/F, and K219Q/E originallydescribed as zidovudine (ZDV)-resistance mutationsare now being widely recognized as havinga role in resistance to stavudine (d4T). Becauseboth ZDV and d4T are thymidine analogs, thesemutations have been referred to as thymidineanalog mutations or TAM.
